THEE NEED TO PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT AND STOP CUTTING DOWN TREES UNNECESSARILY IN THE NORTHERN GHANA.

WHEN THE LAST TREE DIES, THE LAST MAN DIES. Have you ever thought of the weather situation in Northern Ghana (Northern region, Upper East region and Upper West region)? Looking at the terrific heat we are experiencing nowadays, is it going to be decreased in years to come or rather intensified? What will be the health condition of people in Northern Ghana considering this hazardous temperature? Everyday we fell down our limited trees to make charcoal for the entire country. Do we plant more trees to replace the ones we fell down? What will happen if all trees get extinct in Northern Ghana? These are the few questions everyone should be asking himself as far as Northern Ghana is concern. Decreasing annual rainfall and increasingly erratic rainfall patterns, due to climate change, are adversely affecting rural livelihoods in Northern Ghana. It's obvious that most people in northern Ghana rely on agriculture for their socio-economic livelihoods. What will be the state of agriculture in the future looking at the decreasing rainfall in this part of the country? What about the employment situation of the youth? Another important questions for everyone who is concern. Are we going to fold our arms waiting for disaster to fall on us before we act? Everyone is involved! Do we need someone elsewhere to solve this problem for us? Definitely NO! We have to direct our focus to green economy activities such as afforestation, say no to bush burning campaigns, sensitization of the dangers in climate change and many more. But basically, this will start from the individual level in our respective societies. Everyone needs to adopt the attitude of supporting tree planting activities or every environmental protection activities in your community. Do not fell down trees or Plant a tree to replace every tree that you fell down. Avoid bush burning and try to educate your community on the dangers involve in bush burning activities. Donate to support green activities in Northern Ghana to save this area from the threatening and devastating climate change affecting lives of this part of the country. Remember when the last tree dies, the last man dies. This statement tells us that the existence of trees in our environment is an integral component for the existence of mankind. Every living human being is therefore suppose to have a living tree. Collectively we can save our homeland from the undesirable climate conditions in our communities. #stop_cutting trees #issahiddris #UEW AJUMAKO CAMPUS.
